Prepaid Mobiles

I’m going to college in the fall, and I’m moving from Buffalo to NYC, so I’ll obviously need a reliable cell phone. I don’t currently have a working cell phone because my family’s budget is really tight right now and we couldn’t afford out plan with AT&T. But I really need a phone for school in the fall, but since I won’t have time to get a job, my parents are going to have to pay for my phone. My mom has been looking at different pay-as-you-go services, and they’re all either too expensive or they don’t give you nearly enough minutes per month. But I looked at Cricket Mobile, and they have a plan for unlimited talk and texting for $2 a day, or $30 a month. Since my mom would have to pay for both my phone and my sister’s phone, it would be $60 a month. Is this the cheapest plan we’ll be able to find? Is cricket pretty reliable? Where else could we get a cheap, reasonable, and reliable cell phone plan? Thanks!
Wait, I did the math wrong. It would be $60 per phone for unlimited talk and text, and $120 a month for me and my sister. Sorry…
And we don’t need a plan with unlimited everything. Just a plan with a reasonable amount of minutes and at least some texting.

does anyone know how the verizon wireless prepaid cards work, and how you get the minutes, because all they say is like $30 and $15 and they dont tell how many minutes that you get. soooo can you exlain how to use them and stuff? THANKS BUNCHES!

I have a T-Mobile prepay cell phone. I haven’t used it in over a year. I have no service in the town where I live but, can use it when I travel. I don’t know the number and need to know how do I go about reactivating it. Can I do this online? I can’t find the info I want on T-Mobiles site

I will be traveling to Florida, Nevada and Hawaii for a couple of months and want to avoid International roaming rates. I have an unblocked Nokia N95 which I use in Asia and Europe. I just buy a local prepaid SIM which offers cheap calls, especially International.

Are there any US cell phone carriers that sell SIM cards for prepaid account without buying a phone? If so, which offers the best coverage and rates.

I need to buy prepaid cellular minutes (Verizon Wireless). I lost my debit card and am awaiting a new one, I do have checks that I use and just wanted to know if I’d be able to buy by check online. I’m just not sure where to look. Most of the sites I’ve been to ask for credit/debit card number!!! For some reason when I am purchasing other items online I have the option to pay by check or credit card. Someone please help me!!! I need to reload my phone ASAP!!!!
I’m not sure if you all understand the question. I don’t want to PAY a bill. I want to make a purchase to any online store that sells PREPAID MINUTES for cellular phones. When it comes time to choose method of payment, I want my option to be CHECK. Does anyone understand this properly?
