Prepaid Mobiles

I’m going to college in the fall, and I’m moving from Buffalo to NYC, so I’ll obviously need a reliable cell phone. I don’t currently have a working cell phone because my family’s budget is really tight right now and we couldn’t afford out plan with AT&T. But I really need a phone for school in the fall, but since I won’t have time to get a job, my parents are going to have to pay for my phone. My mom has been looking at different pay-as-you-go services, and they’re all either too expensive or they don’t give you nearly enough minutes per month. But I looked at Cricket Mobile, and they have a plan for unlimited talk and texting for $2 a day, or $30 a month. Since my mom would have to pay for both my phone and my sister’s phone, it would be $60 a month. Is this the cheapest plan we’ll be able to find? Is cricket pretty reliable? Where else could we get a cheap, reasonable, and reliable cell phone plan? Thanks!
Wait, I did the math wrong. It would be $60 per phone for unlimited talk and text, and $120 a month for me and my sister. Sorry…
And we don’t need a plan with unlimited everything. Just a plan with a reasonable amount of minutes and at least some texting.

I would like a plan that has unlimited web browsing, text messaging and email. Which cell phone provider is the cheapest for these needs for my family of 4? Thanks.

I have t-mobile PREPAID sim card here in the US, Planning to go to Mexico for 6 months…..I heard with my prepaid it costs 1,49/min and texting 35 cents/ 5 cents…

ANy idea what my best option would be to use it as cheap as here in the US ( 10cents a minute) …

Or could I get a prepaid card in mexico from a mexican phone provider???

What is the cheapest deal I can get for a mobile that has internet and music and stuff. A good phone, but with a cheap plan…What is the best I can get at a cheap price ?

I checked both the virgin mobile site and best buy and it is being sold at both places for $100. Does anybody know a place where i could get one for less?
