Prepaid Mobiles

I am planning to upgrade my current phone with T-Mobile to a Samsung A177 phone. It’s an AT&T phone but i will get it unlocked to use for T-Mobile. My question is if I would need to change my current plan with T-Mobiile to a data plan to use the Samsung A177.

But i want to know, how much it is in prepaid
i’m hoping i can buy it for 49.99 on the verizonwireless.com website
and use prepaid refill cards for minutes, but i don’t know if it’s going to go down like that. Can someone please help me? I really would like to know before tomorrow (09.20.08) because that’s when I want to visit the verizon wireless store nearby and buy the phone if I decide not to on the website.

If so, what type of file does it need to be? Also I have a 2GB micro SD card so I have plenty of room.

and im wondering if i can check my email and use AIM WITHOUT it using internet becuz on the regular messaging plan with T-mobile for cell phones u can use im/text/pix/flix and email without charging for internet, so im confused? please help.

Don’t i still have to pay monthly because technically it is still a contract phone and thats what i paid for is a contract phone but i just put a prepaid sim card into it? I don’t see how that would get me out of the 2 year contract? Say i get it for free on a 2 year contract and then all i have to do is get a prepaid simcard and put it in and then poof! It’s a free phone i just got?
